Private cruises

We currently offer one private cruise itinerary in the Russian Arctic. This is an extremely unique expedition on the Laptev Sea for a small group of up to 16 lucky guests. It begins in the Arctic village of Khatanga and sails north up the River Khatanga. At the time of year when we run the cruise, the world’s largest wild reindeer herd (1 million head) is migrating across this river. Groups of reindeer are constantly seen swimming ahead of and behind our ship.

Eventually we come out into the Gulf of Khatanga and the Laptev Sea, part of

the Arctic Ocean. From here, we follow the coast of the Taymyr Peninsula north, stopping to observe walrus colonies and the polar bears preying on them. On the way back south we stop off at Yakutia’s Arctic Ocean islands for more polar bears, walrus and a colony of a million birds.

Guests must be prepared for a lower level of comfort than they may have experienced on Arctic cruises elsewhere in the world. However, in exchange they will be among the first foreigners to visit these extraordinarily remote and utterly unique places.
